Nelson teen on verge of stardom
Young pianist makes NZ's Got Talent semi finalJOHNNY BONNAR
Nelson's music prodigy William Fairbairn will perform on the semi final of television show New Zealand's Got Talent on Sunday.
The 15-year-old said he was excited to show how hard he has been practising for the show.
"I'm really well prepared, I've spent weeks practising getting everything perfect," he said.
In the fourth semi final of the series, William will face off against Kale Simpson, Prestige Dance Crew, as well as Zane and Dev, Clara Van Wel.
William, who has two CDs to his credit, considers making the top 30 on the show his most admirable achievment yet.
If he continues through to the Grand Final, William sees the J-Geeks as his biggest threat because of their humour and precision while on stage.
But William has a plan, should the opportunity arise to face off against the likable dance group.
"I think what gives me an edge is composing my own music, I've been doing that since I was four," he said.
William promised that if he made it through to the grand final he would play one of his own original songs.
- New Zealand's Got Talent will be on at 7.30pm on TV One, Sunday. To vote for William, text ‘William' to 8981 after the show, voting closes on Tuesday at 12pm.
