Nelson City Council is seeking volunteers to agree to be part of a regular survey panel, to find out what residents think on a range of issues.
The council had set up the email-based People's Panel which would provide an opportunity for Nelson residents to have their say, as well as give guidance for future policies and decisions, the council's manager of monitoring and research, Martin Workman, said.
The People's Panel is only open to residents and ratepayers of the Nelson City Council area. Residents can join online at the council's website nelsoncitycouncil.co.nz.
Those who agree to take part will be sent a survey every six to eight weeks which will take about five to 10 minutes to complete. Mr Workman said the council would provide regular reports of the results and information on how the feedback was being used in council decisions.
