A 66-year-old man from Palmerston North holidaying in Motueka fell 3m down a bank while cutting trees at 3pm yesterday and was flown to Nelson Hospital by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter.

The man was initially treated at Greenwood Medical Centre and was flown to Nelson after developing neck and spinal issues.

He was in a moderate condition.
