Neudorf Vineyards co-owner Judy Finn says the team at the winery are "chuffed" to have its wine selected for the world premiere of The Hobbit in Wellington next week.
Neudorf's Tom's Block Pinot Noir 2010 has been chosen to be poured for Hobbit stars Cate Blanchett, Martin Freeman and the rest of the crew.
"This is a seriously impressive VIP list", said Mrs Finn. "We might have the break out something with bubbles in it for the crew. Got to celebrate the good times".
The news comes as the latest honour in a stellar week for the Upper Moutere vineyard, after its Maggie's Block Pinot Gris was chosen for Prince Charles' 64th birthday, then on Monday it was awarded Best New Zealand Pinot Gris for its Moutere Pinot Gris at the Australia Good Wine Awards in Melbourne.
