An 86-year-old woman hit by a four-wheel-drive vehicle in the Richmond Mall carpark yesterday escaped with minor injuries.
St John team leader Jon Leach said the woman received minor abrasions and contusions to her head and arm when she was hit by the vehicle at 10.46am.
The woman ended up lying between the vehicle's front and back wheels and Mr Leach said she was lucky to escape serious injury.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Nelson Hospital to be treated.
