Search ends as police appeal for help
Nelson police have ended their search for a missing Christchurch man whose car was found on a back road near Tapawera.
But they are still asking for information from the public to help find Mark William Robinson, 37.
Mr Robinson, a storeman, has not been seen since Friday morning, when he told his partner he was going to work.
His car, a gold Mazda MX5 convertible, was found on Sunday night on Dry Weather Rd, between Glenhope and Tapawera.
Bank records and CCTV footage show he drove to Nelson on Friday. It was likely that he then headed back towards Murchison. His car was locked when it was found, but was stuck and not able to be driven.
Police have said there is nothing to suggest foul play but they are concerned because Mr Robinson’s disappearance is out of character.
Nelson Bays police and search and rescue volunteers had finished searching around Mr Robinson’s car and did not find anything conclusive. Police are asking the public to come forward if they have any information that might help.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Keith Olds on 03 3739220, Christchurch police on 03 3637400 or Nelson police on 5463840.
To provide information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
