Talented Nelsonians will today get their chance to make it into the big time, as the X-Factor NZ juggernaut rolls into town.
Those keen to strut their stuff and put their vocal chords to the test should head to the Nelson School of Music today for a pre-audition.
The pre-auditions run from 10am to 5pm, with singers singing a capella or with their own guitar and performing for the show's executive producers.
The Kiwi version of the show, based on the popular US and British talent programme created by Simon Cowell, will air later this year.
Singers Stan Walker and Daniel Beddingfield have been confirmed as judges, with more yet to be announced.
Those who make it to the next stage will audition in front of the judges and a live studio audience in late February.
Hundreds of hopefuls queued up early at auditions in Christchurch on Sunday, and Mediaworks spokeswoman Rose Swale said there had been plenty of interest.
''We're really hoping for a strong turn-out in Nelson as well. We think there will be a lot of hidden talent.''
