HAPPY COUPLE: Body in Space artistic directors Daniel Allan and Lisa Norriss moments after their on-stage engagement at Fairfield House.

Those at Fairfield House Meadow to watch Body in Space's production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest last Friday night saw plenty of great moments on stage, but the best was completely unscripted.

Perhaps in keeping with the coupling theme of the play, Body in Space co-artistic director Daniel Allan surprised everyone by proposing to his fellow artistic director, and love of 10 years, Lisa Norriss, on stage after the show.

The crowd went wild, and Allan finished the koha-only show with the quip: "Please give generously. I now have a wedding to pay for."
