Free self-defence workshops are being offered to women in response to recent violent attacks in Nelson.
Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower Trust is offering the free courses to help women keep safe, be alert and aware, de-escalate difficult situations, and also some emergency self defence.
Three free workshops in Nelson are being offered, including one with interpreters in conjunction with Nelson Multicultural Council.
Kidpower NZ programme director Cornelia Baumgartner said it wanted to do something to help women and reclaim some power following two attacks in central Nelson.
Three women have been attacked in Nelson this month.
The first course is at the Women's Centre, Trafalgar St, on March 7.
