Air Nelson chief pilot Captain Darin Stringer has been appointed acting general manager of the regional airline, an Air New Zealand Link operator, following the departure of Grant Kerr.
Mr Kerr is expected to start his new role at Jetstar's New Zealand operations in the second half of this year.
The low-cost operator, owned by Qantas Airways, created a new Auckland-based position to oversee the airline's operations, customer experience and stakeholder relations in New Zealand.
Mr Kerr was appointed Air Nelson general manager in 2009, and took up the reins in July of that year.
Air New Zealand communications manager Marie Hosking said today that Captain Stringer had taken up a temporary role managing Air Nelson while the process to find a permanent appointment got under way.
