A Wakefield father and son have been charged with aggravated burglary, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful possession of a pistol, following a home invasion at Brightwater property.
Police say the men, aged 60 and 35, entered a rural property last Saturday night and assaulted a 47-year-old Brightwater man.
The man suffered a gash to the head and other injuries during the attack, which was seen by his 10-year-old son.
The father appeared in the Nelson District Court yesterday. He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody until Tuesday. The son was to appear today.
