Showers are expected to clear in time for Anzac Day dawn services in the Nelson region tomorrow.
MetService meteorologist Dan Corbett said there would be a few showers earlier in the morning but it was likely to be dry by dawn.
The temperature would be cool at 9 or 10 degrees, and it would be damp underfoot. The rest of the day was expected to be fine.
Dawn services will be held in Nelson, Motueka, Takaka, and Collingwood.
In Nelson a parade will march at 6.15am from Millers Acre in Halifax St to Anzac Park for a service. A Nelson city wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the memorial at Church Hill by the cathedral at 9am, and the Stoke Civic Service will be at the Memorial Hall at 11am.
At Richmond, the parade will assemble in Croucher St at 10.45am and the service will be at the War Memorial Gardens.
The Motueka Dawn service will be at the War Memorial in Pah St at 6.30am. At Takaka, there will be a dawn service at the Memorial Library at 6.30am and a march and a civic service at 9am. The Collingwood dawn parade will assemble at 6.15am, with a civic service will be at 11.15am.
Other services are: Murchison 11am, Mapua, 11am, Wakefield, 10am, Brightwater 9am, Tapawera 9.40am, Upper Moutere, 10am, Tasman 10am, Riwaka 9am and Ngatimoti 10.30am.
