WHEELS UP: Emergency services attend a crash involving a vehicle and trailer with a load of timber on the hill up from the Appleby Straight.

A vehicle towing a tandem trailer loaded with timber rolled on the Appleby Straight about 1pm today, closing one lane of the road.

Richmond Volunteer Fire Brigade chief fire officer Ralph Lonsdale said the driver of the car was able to get himself out of the vehicle before emergency services arrived.

The crash on the hill at the western end of the Appleby Straight.

The driver only suffered minor injuries.

Mr Lonsdale said the driver had hit the bank causing the car to roll.

It was fortunate that there was no other traffic behind the driver or travelling towards him, Mr Lonsdale said.
