A Brightwater woman is seeking the public's help to track down her pet lamb, which she believes to have been stolen.
Sharon Rawson contacted the Nelson Mail today, saying her 5-week old Arapawa Cross lamb Hayden had been taken from an old chicken coop on a property on Robinson's Rd in Brightwater.
She said he had had a "troublesome" start to life, with his mother abandoning him at birth, and contracted tendons, which requires on-going medical care.
He was taken from the coop, which had a bolted-shut gate on the night of August 18. When she went down the next morning, the roof was lifted up and the gate open.
There was no way he could have escaped by himself, she said.
"His legs don't work at the best of times."
He was greatly missed by the neighborhood children, she said.
She was offering a reward for any information which led to his safe return, and could be contacted on 027 245 3163.
