Drivers along Tahunanui Drive had a slow journey home last evening following an apparently minor collision near Rawhiti St, right on rush-hour.
Police, fire and ambulance were at the scene following the nose-to-tail crash which resulted in traffic being backed up some distance along Tahunanui Drive. There were no reports of anyone being injured in the collision.
Earlier in the afternoon a 31 year-old Picton man was flown to Wairau Hospital by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter after the vehicle he was driving hit a highway barrier.
He was the only person in the car which hit the barrier beside State Highway 6 near Rai Valley. He was to Wairau hospital with minor injuries.
