Nelson police raid rural address on drug related search

Three people were arrested at a pre-planned search warrant on Thursday.

Police have arrested three people during a pre-planned drug related search of a rural address in Foxhill outside of Wakefield, near Nelson.

An armed offenders squad as well as nine police cars headed to the address on Thursday morning at 8am.  

Sergeant Dale Smith, from Nelson's tactical crime unit, said officers found a small amount of cannabis buds, a small amount of methamphetamine and an amount of cash.

He said the arrested faced charges including breach of bail, possession of meth, possession of cannabis, cultivation of cannabis and the possession of drug utensils. 

Two people were due to appear in Nelson District Court on Thursday afternoon.
