Missing man found after nine day search
A man missing in Golden Bay for nine days has been found.
Timothy Gary Donald, 32, was located by police in Pohara yesterday afternoon, after a member of the public recognised his car from stories on his disappearance. He was healthy and in good spirits.
Takaka sergeant Kane Haerewa said the manhad just been taking some time out to himself. His cellphone had run out of battery and he had not charged it.
"In this age, when you don't hear from someone when you call them, people start to get a bit worried."
Mr Donald, who was living at Kaiteriteri, had not been heard from since October 15, when he sent a text message to his employer to say he was not feeling well and was not coming to work.
Mr Donald had been staying at a lodge in Kaiteriteri, having moved to the Tasman area recently from Queenstown.
Mr Haerewa said he had now gone back over the Takaka Hill with his family.
He thanked the tight-knit community in Golden Bay for being quick to contact the police with information.
