A 15 year-old boy from Tapawera was airlifted by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter last night after falling off a motocross bike.

The boy had been riding the bike on private land when he fell off, a helicopter spokesperson said.

An onboard intensive care paramedic treated the boy for his injuries at the scene.

He was flown to Nelson Hospital in a stable condition for further assessment and treatment.
