Pene Pati, of the popular trio Sol3 Mio will star at Nelson's Opera in the Park.

The Samoan New Zealand singers, who studied at Welsh International Academy Of Voice, have topped the New Zealand albums chart for the year with their debut album, outselling Lorde.

Pati and his partner, Egyptian-born New Zealand soprano Amina Edris, will join world-renowned, multi-instrumental jazz musician and trumpet player James Morrison, talented Kiwi vocalist Tama Waipara, and be supported by accomplished conductor Marc Taddei and Orchestra Wellington at Opera in the Park.

The open air music event will be held at Trafalgar Park on February 22.

Tickets for Nelson Opera in the Park 2014 are on sale now at, from Nelson City Council's customer service centre or Nelson iSite.

Opera in the Park is presented by Nelson City Council as part of the Summer in Nelson programme.
