Another major Lotto win underscores Richmond's Night 'n Day Foodstore's Midas touch.

The holder of a ticket purchased from the store walked away with close to $100,000 from Saturday night's draw - the third winning first division strike ticket the store has sold and 31st major division prize since Lotto started, said store owner David Smolenski.

He said the lucky Queen St shop enjoyed a huge following of loyal Lotto ticket customers. "And at this time of year everyone is buying tickets because of the Christmas promotions."

Smolenski did not know if it was a local punter or a holidaymaker passing through Nelson, and put down the store's Midas touch to good luck and hard work. "We are excited when we sell a winning ticket - we want people to win and we throw everything behind it. We are lucky and we love selling good prizes."

Smolenski urged all Lotto buyers to check their tickets.
