Nelson woman hurt in Seddon crash
Passenger airlifted after car rolls on SH1
A Nelson woman was seriously injured when a car driven by a 16-year-old male crashed and rolled on State Highway 1 south of Seddon about 2pm yesterday afternoon.
The driver was taken to Wairau Hospital in Blenheim by St John Ambulance where he was treated for moderate hand and face injuries.
The 32-year-old woman suffered more severe injuries and was flown to Christchurch by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter.
A rescue helicopter spokesperson was not available for comment.
A police spokesperson said that the cause of the accident was not yet known but conditions and visibility were poor at the time, with rain and strong wind.
