Birthdays past and future won't be topped for a Nelson woman who danced on stage with Bruce Springsteen.
Nursing student Kaylah Erasmuson celebrated her 19th birthday by dancing and singing on stage with the Boss for hit track Dancing in the Dark.
Miss Erasmuson went to the Springsteen concert at Mt Smart stadium in Auckland on Saturday night with her family.
Still "overwhelmed and in shock" this morning, Miss Erasmuson said she had her brother to thank for the chance to sing and dance on stage.
"I had a sign that said ‘Dance with me Bruce, it's my birthday", my brother said I can't go there without a sign."
Springsteen spotted the sign and motioned for her to join him on stage with about six other fans. They danced together and sang into the microphone.
She had sparked plenty of jealousy amongst her friends. She had put a photo up on Facebook of her at the concert on stage. Friends had commented it was "amazing" and she had also been messaged "from randoms" about it.
"Even my mum was jealous I got to come up stage, but was stoked to see him."
Other than the happy birthday wishes on stage, Springsteen also gifted her his guitar pick at the end of the show.
"I've put it in a safe place, I don't know what to do with it, I don't want to carry it around with me all the time in case I lose it."
Miss Erasmuson is a long time fan of the Boss.
"I've grown to love him to over the years, it was mum's influence, she loves him."
There was "no comparison" as far as previous birthday celebrations were concerned.
"I don't think I will ever top that, it was pretty amazing."
She said her favorite songs played at the concert were Born in the USA and Glory Days.
Springsteen played both Saturday and Sunday nights, to close to 80,000 fans in Auckland.
It was his first concert in New Zealand in 10 years
