Cyclist seriously injured in crash
A cyclist suffered multiple injuries after a collision with a car at an intersection with State Highway 6 at the Glen Rd.
A police spokeswoman said the woman cyclist, aged 52, was exiting the Glen Rd onto the highway, shortly before 1pm yesterday when the collision happened.
The rental car was driven by a German man in his 30s. Inquiries into the crash are continuing.
The Nelson Marlborough rescue helicopter landed near the scene and flew the woman to Nelson Hospital.
Rescue helicopter pilot Tim Douglas-Clifford said the woman was flung into the car's windscreen and received multiple injuries.
She was in a serious condition in Nelson Hospital's intensive care unit yesterday, and this morning was reported to be stable.
