The vital Takaka Hill route between Motueka and Golden Bay has reopened.
The section of State Highway 6 was closed yesterday because of flooding in Golden Bay, stranding motorists on both sides of the hill.
Motorists are being warned to take care because of slips and some parts of the road are reduced to one lane.
SH 60 from Upper Takaka to Takaka is also now open. Nelson Tasman Emergency Management advised flood waters had dropped and the road was passable, with caution.
SH 60 from Takaka to Collingwood remains closed due to flooding at Waitapu, with road blocks are still in place.
