Young people with big ambitions and their families gathered at the Aloha Lodge yesterday for the presentation of the inaugural Prices Pharmacy Aim High Awards, run by the pharmacy and The Nelson Mail.
There were 21 winners of the awards, which were open to any student between the ages of eight and 18 who wanted to aim high in any field.
With a large response to the awards, the winners were chosen from 350 applicants. Winners received, on average, $200 to $250, with their organisations, such as schools or sports groups, receiving the same amount of money.
Nelson Mail photographer Patrick Hamilton went to the event.
Photographs of all the recipients and others taken at the time can be bought from any Nelson Mail office.
