Veteran signs up for Makos

The Tasman Makos rugby team playing roster increased by one with confirmation that back Blair Cook has signed for the 2010 season.
A foundation member of the team, having played the Makos' very first match against Canada A, Cook became a key first-choice player, his high work-rate and all-round skills a hallmark. He has played both wing and fullback.
Makos head coach Kieran Keane said he was delighted to have Cook back for another season and hoped to be able to confirm more signings in the next week or so. Cook's addition to the mix follows the signing last week of Quentin MacDonald, Kade Poki and Robbie Malneek.
On the negative side, another foundation member and captain in 2007, lock-flanker Alex Ainley has left the Makos to take up a contract with the Mitsubishi Club in Japan.
Keane said Ainley goes with the Tasman union's blessings but said he will leave a significant gap.
Ainley played consistently well throughout his career with the Makos, having previously played for Marlborough.
