Big field for 20th event
Relevant offers
The roads around Riwaka will be well trodden tomorrow, with 340 runners and walkers circuiting the coastline in the annual Kaiteriteri Gold Half Marathon and 10km.
One hundred and sixty have entered the Shoreline Cafe Half Marathon, while 177 will avoid the Sandy Bay Hill through choosing The Beached Whale 10km option.
The event celebrates its 20th anniversary with a record field – well up on last year's 205.
Back for the occasion is Greg Goodall, piping on the Sandy Bay Hill summit and sure to inspire the field on to the Kaiteriteri Beach finish line, as well as bringing back memories for those who pioneered the course at its inception and are back tomorrow for old times' sake.
Half marathon walkers will start their circuit at 8.15am, chased by those more fleet of foot 30 minutes later, while all those in the 10km have a 9.15am start.
Full results will be posted on nelsonevents.co.nz.
