Nelson's Peter Hodson has moved to third in his section after another unbeaten day at the world champion of champions singles bowls tournament in Cyprus yesterday.
Hodson is one of three players on 16 points after 12 rounds of section play, but is third overall on differential. Hong Kong's Stanley Lai and Scotland's Mark Kelsey share Hodson's 8-2 win-loss ratio.
Yesterday Hodson took wins over Singapore's Christian Huang (12-6 4-11 4-3), Zimbabwe's David Bryan (7-5 9-4) and China's Kenny Ng (6-11 10-4 5-0).
New Zealand's women's representative, Sandra Keith, leads her section, with a 9-1 record, four points ahead of her nearest rival. The top qualifiers go straight through to the semifinals.
