Nelson allrounder Josh Clarkson captured four wickets to help Central Districts to a convincing first-innings win over Otago on day two of the national under-17 tournament in Wellington yesterday.
Clarkson had earlier contributed 59 runs in Central's impressive first-innings total of 339 at Karori Park, before taking 4-34 off 16 overs, including six maidens, to help dismiss Otago for just 120 in their first innings.
Nelson's Liam Clark conceded 13 runs from his five overs without taking a wicket.
Batting in their second innings, Central had reached 237 for 2 when play ended, Horowhenua-Kapiti batsman Jayden Miles finishing unbeaten on 118.
Central Districts 339 (B Cameron 33, L Burling 34, J Harden 139, J Clarkson 59, J Barrett 21, N Smith 6-53) and 237 for 2 (B Cameron 75, J Miles 118 no, T Kuggeleijn 25) beat Otago 120 (T Cumberland 43, J Clarkson 4-34) on first innings.
