Lettuce leaf protest

Ashley Fruno reckons donning a lettuce gown makes a change from being doused in mock blood, dressing as the devil or being locked semi-nude in a cage.
The animal activist wore a dress made from lettuce in Adelaide's sweltering midday sun to try and convince passersby to become vegetarian.
Fruno, a 23-year-old Canadian, is an activist for the People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals.
She has been involved in hundreds of protests worldwide, arrested numerous times and even thrown out of countries - so standing in a lettuce dress for an hour is a cinch.
"A lot of people are really curious about it and it's certainly a very fun and provocative way to drive people to a very serious message," Fruno said, while holding a sign saying: Let Vegetarianism Grow On You.
