Eden's shock of hair still turning heads

Little Eden Thomas-Sharan's spiky mop of hair has turned heads from the time he was born, and now as a toddler, his handsome hairdo is still eye-catching.
At 19 months, Eden has more hair than a three-year-old girl in his play group and much more than one of his cousins, who is the same age and has hardly any hair.
His mother Katrena Thomas, of Titahi Bay, said Eden has had five haircuts since he was born and while his hair had settled down, "we cut it long so it doesn't stick up".
A year ago, Eden's spiky hairdo made him the centre of attention, with strangers stopping in the street to look at him.
The family were inundated with interested onlookers at the Parent and Child Show at Westpac Stadium when a four-month-old Eden went without his hat.
Eden loved the attention, but Ms Thomas said it made it hard to get anything done.
"We don't get stopped as much but he's popular with the ladies because he's so gorgeous," she said.
"We won't have to worry about him going bald!"
The family had put a blown-up picture of Eden from The Dominion Post on the wall at home.
Ms Thomas' mother, Frances Thomas, said that when her daughter was born her hair was so spiky it was almost impossible to tame for the first two years.
When Eden was born with the same hairdo, she thought, "Here we go again".
