Woman sleeps while dog gnaws her toe off

An American diabetic woman awoke to find her beloved miniature dachshund had gnawed off her big toe.
Linda Floyd told the Alton Telegraph that her dog, Roscoe, had since been put down due to safety concerns.
The 56-year-old from Illinois has no feeling in her toes because of nerve damage caused by diabetes.
She discovered her big toe was missing after waking up from a nap.
She phoned her daughter, who then called emergency services.
A veterinarian said the toe was bandaged at the time due to a minor injury, which may have somehow attracted the dog.
