A US man has named his newborn daughter Sarah McCain Palin Ciptak to show his support for the US Republican presidential ticket - but it came as a surprise to the child's mum.
The parents had agreed on Ava Grace as the child's name, the German Press Association (DPA) reported, but father Mark Ciptak filled out the birth certificate with a different name.
He told his local newspaper he did it to draw attention to the candidate, and only told his wife later.
The couple said they hadn't decided whether to keep the name or change it back to their original choice, DPA said.
