Picton police are anxious to find out the identity of a roaming belcher.
An unknown man has approached three women in the last two weeks, made inappropriate comments and belched in their faces before going on his way.
Senior constable Paul McKenzie, of Picton, said the man entered a shop in High St, Picton and carried on verbally at the retailer, again ending his performance with a belch.
"He badgers them with inappropriate comments of a non-sexual nature, but it is offensive to someone not expecting it," Mr McKenzie said.
The last episode was at 2pm on Tuesday on Waikawa Rd.
The man on one occasion went as far as following a woman to her house, or perhaps had tracked down her address, and yelled at her.
Mr McKenzie said the man had been seen walking along Waikawa Rd between Picton and Waikawa and in High St.
He is caucasian, probably aged in his 40s, about 185cm tall, has shortish dark hair, is clean shaven and often wears a hat or a dark baseball style cap.
When last seen he was wearing a red chequered shirt, long dark coloured track pants and casual shoes.
"This man is not violent but needs to be spoken to," Mr McKenzie said.
Anyone who has experienced this man's behaviour, or to whom it happens in future, or can identify him is asked to contact the Picton police as soon as possible on 03 520 3120.
