Mystery outline in Marlborough resembles murder victim in detective movie
A strange outline of a man painted on a Blenheim road has puzzled passing motorists.
The figure, which resembles the outline of a murder victim in a detective movie, has appeared at the High St and Beaver Rd intersections.
Dotted white markings resembling a track have been sprayed on the pavement on the other side of the street.
Marlborough highway patrol team leader Sergeant Barrie Greenall said he had seen the figure but had "no idea" why it was there.

"I think it's somebody having a little bit of merriment," he said.
Marlborough Roads journey manager Steve Murrin said he did not know anything about the mystery figure.
Two residents, who live close to the intersection, said they had never seen it before.
The Blenheim Baptist Community Church is close to the intersection.
An office worker said the figure "just appeared".
"I think it must have been on Sunday night."
It was probably just graffiti, she said.
