A dead possum has been dressed up and placed on the side of State Highway 1, causing many motorists to do a double take.
The possum is dressed in a baby’s cardigan, pants and hat, has a cigarette sticking out of its mouth, and is attached to a sign saying ‘‘I’m feeling a bit run down’’.
It was first noticed at its location on the corner of Ruahine St by Kapiti Observer staff last week.
A staff member at Boat City said no-one had any idea who put it there, but a similar stunt occurred last year.
