A coffin-shaped dunny will be removed from a far north Queensland cemetery and laid to rest in a nearby paddock.
The curiosity, at the township of Millaa Millaa, doesn’t meet building standards and has attracted a number of complaints.
Local chamber of commerce spokesman Pat Reynolds said the controversial toilet will be given a fitting farewell on Friday.
‘‘There will be a funeral for it, as we’re calling it the death of commonsense at the cemetery,’’ Reynolds told the ABC.
The chamber of commerce erected the toilet building in hopes it would become an attraction.
