Green fingered thief may be creating own garden

Levin police are hunting for a green-fingered thief who has been stealing items from local gardens.

Sergeant Dylan Earle said the thief had stripped gardens of plants, ornaments, statues, pots and garden furniture.

Mr Earle said police believed the offender was either creating a garden or was selling the items, possibly at markets in the Horowhenua district.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has noticed a new garden with an array of statues or anyone who has bought similar items from a private seller.
