The US will have a chance to say goodbye to Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, in a memorial service at the Washington National Cathedral on September 13th.

The 10 am service will be broadcast live on NASA Television and streamed on the websites of the cathedral and space agency.

It will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. But reservations still must be made through NASA.

Armstrong died August 25 and had a private service in Ohio.

The Apollo 11 crew delivered a moon rock to the cathedral in 1974 on the fifth anniversary of the moon landing.
