Hundreds farewelled crash victims Shannon Kiriau and his sister, Danielle, in Mosgiel today with many tributes describing them as "so beautiful".

The siblings were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed on Dunedin's southern motorway on Sunday morning.

An outpouring of grief and memories came from dozens of family members and friends.

Danielle, 17, was described as loud and cheerful, "the happiest girl in the world", who always lit up a room and brought a smile to one's face.

Shannon, 21, was devoted to his mother and his sister, and supportive of so many.

A tearful friend said if Shannon has seen him today he would have said, "Pull yourself together, bro".

"Well, this is your fault, bro," the speaker said.

Tributes to the pair were given on behalf of survivors of the fatal crash, Courtney Donald, who remains in hospital, and Caitlin Adams, who attended but did not speak

A message delivered on Donald's behalf said she would be "devastated she didn't get to say goodbye".
