Two people have been cut from cars after a serious crash on Dunedin's northern motorway.
Two rescue units were required to cut the trapped people from their cars about 6pm tonight, Fire Service communications said.
The second person has just been rescued with the jaws of life.
Meanwhile on the outskirts of Christchurch, a person was rescued after their car flipped into a ditch near Waikuku.
The occupant of the car has been treated by ambulance staff.
A three-car motor vehicle accident occurred just outside The Hub in Hornby at 5.50pm. Minor injuries have been reported.
