An Auckland-based development company says it has lodged a resource consent to build a 48-room, six apartment Ramada Hotel in Queenstown.

The consent has been lodged with Queenstown Lakes District Council, with construction planned to start on the $25 million project before Christmas.

The four-level 5000 square metre hotel was to be built next to the Remarkables Park Town Centre, making it Queenstown’s first "airport hotel".
