Pair hit by Queenstown taxi

Two Queenstown residents were injured when a taxi pulled out in front of them as local bars closed.

Senior Constable Chris Blackford said the 41-year-old driver pulled out of the taxi stand in Camp St about 4am yesterday and hit the pedestrians.

They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police inquiries into the incident were continuing.
