Southern franchisee scoops top award
Jennian Homes Southland has won a top franchise award in the country.
The Southland branch collected the "franchisee of the year award" at the Jennian Homes annual conference this month.
The Invercargill-owned business was also recognised for being nominated as finalist, gaining a top three position and for most improved franchisee.
The awards, based on a series of financial and non-financial criteria were contested by all Jennian franchisees.
Jennian Homes Southland owners Carl and Tracey Hamilton also operate the Jennian Homes Central Otago franchise.
They were surprised their business, now in its fourth year, picked up so many of the awards.
The top award is given to the franchise performing strongly across all areas of the business when benchmarked against the national group.
"I knew we were up there, but could not believe we won over the well-established franchises," Carl said.
He credited a team effort by regional staff and the national systems for the success.
He and Tracey would try to build on the success as they grew their businesses throughout the region. "We have a lot to strive for as we try to do it again next year."
