The last tenancy in the final stage of Ngai Tahu's multimillion-dollar Queenstown Post Office precinct, the Post Office Cafe was offically opened with a guest launch last night.
The champagne flowed as guests enjoyed the tasty tapas and today, the cafe opened its doors at 7.30am in time for breakfast.
It is the fourth Queenstown restaurant for Mr James and his wife Megan, and business partners Jan Rae and Alex Boyes, who also own Steamer Wharf restaurant's Wai and Finz, and Bella Cucina in Brecon St.
The cafe, which will seat about 60 diners, 25 inside and 35 at outdoor tables, also features a private conference boardroom for eight complete with audio conferencing.
The cafe features a separate takeaway espresso area as well as seated menu tables and will be open for breakfast from 7.30am, through until the tapas dinner menu closes at 8pm.
It employs 16 staff, seven of them in the kitchen.
