Alliance's Mataura meatworks rose another grade in the performance-based verification system, after it fell to the lowest grade this year.
Alliance general manager of processing John Brader said the company’s Mataura meatworks went up to a grade four on Friday.
All meatworks are audited by the Primary Industries Ministry but since the $15m upgrade of the meatworks in November, it slipped from the top grade of six to the minimum grade of one in May.
The performance-based verification system grades the construction of the plant, cleaning and sanitation, slaughter and dressing and storage.
