One of the largest hospitality firms in the Wakatipu has announced the sale of its Wanaka businesses and the closure of the town's Botswana Butchery.
Queenstown-based Good Group, founded by Al Spary and run by chief executive Russell Gray, runs a stable of bars, restaurants and off-licences but yesterday announced the sale of its Post Office Lane businesses.
Mr Gray said Woody's and Barluga were sold as going concerns and the Wanaka Botswana Butchery restaurant would close on Saturday night.
The pubs were bought by Hospo Bros, who own the Water Bar in Wanaka and take over on Tuesday.
Mr Gray said the group continued to focus on operations in Queenstown, Christchurch and Auckland.
Staff from the businesses would be given opportunities by the new owners and options within Good Group in other centres, he said.
