Catlins Wildlife Trackers, run by Mary and Fergus Sutherland, has won the Sustainability Award of the Westpac Otago Chamber of Commerce OBIZ 2012 Awards.
The Sutherlands' business was a finalist in the sustainability and tourism sections.
Mohua Park, their tourist cottages set in the bush at Tawanui, won the design section in 2008.
"We are very thrilled, " Mrs Sutherland said.
"It was really splendid to get the sustainability award after winning other tourism and environmental awards."
She said the award rewarded businesses managing the triple bottom line, where an economically successful business combined that with care for the environment and the community.
Over the years Catlins Wildlife Trackers or the Mohua Park accommodation have won various awards, including Qualmark Envirogold, New Zealand Activity and Adventure Tourism Award in 1996, the Clutha District Chamber of Commerce tourism section award in 1997, and the 2011 TravelBug Award for best reviews.
Mr Sutherland was made an MNZM in 2007 for services to conservation and tourism and the couple have been strongly involved in conservation work in The Catlins and Southland.
