Jetstar axes capital route

Jetstar will suspend its Queenstown to Wellington service after winter.

The airline, which has been flying the route since December 2011 using an Airbus A320, will cease the flights from September 1.

Queenstown Airport chief executive Scott Paterson said while the decision was disappointing, it was not a major setback as Air New Zealand had plans to increase its capacity on the route by 44 per cent.
