The Alliance Group has appointment Vanessa Stoddart to its board as an independent director.
Stoddart, who is from Dunedin, has held a number of senior management positions with high-profile companies including Air New Zealand and Carter Holt Harvey.
The appointment follows the retirement of former director Owen Poole last year.
Stoddart will oversee the meat processor and exporter's strategic direction.
"As a passionate New Zealander, I'm keen to work with brands, companies and industries at the heart of New Zealand's economy. I have been fortunate to work with great leaders throughout my career and I am looking forward to using what I have learnt to benefit the board and Alliance Group strategically and operationally," Stoddart, said in a statement today.
Stoddart is also independent director of The Warehouse Group Limited, Paymark Limited and The New Zealand Refining Company.
Alliance Group chairman Murray Taggart said Stoddart had outstanding credentials with a diverse commercial background and strength in the development and implementation of corporate strategies.
She would help increase the long-term value of the company, he said.
